Echoflex products are based on the technology of EnOcean. EnOcean specializes in creating very low powered radio's, and by virtue of this are able to be powered from the ambient energy that resides around us. The mechanical push of the switch or the harnessing of solar energy is enough to provide the energy to power switches and sensors.
The EnOcean radio protocol is very robust. Each transmitter is pre-programmed from the factory based on a 32 bit code, giving nearly 5 billion unique codes. These telegrams, when transmitted do so in a very short packette, less likelihood of collision with other signals and with redundancy built in - 3 to 5 times in 1.7 ms, if the controller misses the first transmission it will get the second and so on. Each receiving module is able to learn up to 30 devices, and with the addition of co-processors additional devices can be used and with unique telegrams from the transmitter, it can be listened to by as many receivers that are in range.
The technology is RF and therefore range planning is important, but generally 30m within a building through up to 5 drywalls, 2 cinder block and one farrow concrete wall and outdoors the range can extend to 100m. Echoflex has designed repeaters that will extend the range of transmissions. These repeaters will double the distance of any transmission they hear.
Echoflex has taken a unique approach to the control of buidling environment by developing the ability to create smart space. Centralized control and time become unnecessary when a room can be conditioned to think for itself. Time does not matter if occupancy has already turned the lights off and set back the heating and cooling.
Centralized control is very hard to acheive, especially in a retrofit situation, the Echoflex Solution provides a means of getting intelligent room control easily and with little disruption to ongoing business, while maintaining the flexibility of the space.Echoflex has taken this technology and adapted its use into lighting, mechanical and process control applications. Optimization of energy consumption can be retrofitted into existing buildings quickly, at considerable savings, and all the while retaining flexibility.
Echoflex' products create smart spaces. Classroom, offices, cubicle areas, warehouses, etc .... that think for themselves without the necessity of a centralized system. Retrofit all the rooms, or one at a time, it doesn't matter each room is independant from the others and thinks for itself!
Where central systems do exist the Echoflex product line allows a unique opportunity to increase control without wires. The technology is designed to work within protocol standards like LON and BACNET.
