Smart Space Lighting Kit

 
Using EnOcean’s patented radio and energy harvesting technology, Echoflex has developed switches and sensors, which are all wireless and require no batteries – ever!
These components enable a variety of control including switch, occupancy and daylight harvesting control to ensure that when the space is able, it can take advantage of available savings.
 
Echoflex Solutions, as it switches and sensors only transmit a state, has developed a very intelligent radio enabled lighting relay controller designed to Create Smart Spaces - spaces that think for themselves to optimize the energy consumption of a space. This controller is designed to work at commercial voltages including 120/277/347 and is suitable for use in offices, boardrooms, cubicle areas, corridors and hallways, file and photo copy rooms, up to a full circuit load to enable the room to think for itself. It delivers a 0-10V signal for dimming control and also has a 24V secondary for powering wired occupancy sensors. The controller is able to learn one photo sensor and any combination of 29 switches or wireless occupancy sensors.
 
The intelligence of this controller comes from two significant adaptations. Firstly, the controllers self configure based on their learned inputs. If it has only learned a switch it will act as a switch or timed switch, if it has only learned an occupancy sensor it will perform auto on/ auto off, if it has learned a switch and occupancy sensor it will perform manual on/auto off, if it learns a switch and photo sensor it will perform switch activation and 0-10V or on/off daylight harvesting (depending on the ballast), if it learns all three it will perform as a manual on, auto off, with dimming or switched daylight harvesting.
 
Secondly, the controller is equipped with SmartClick™ a commissioning process, created and patented by Echoflex, whereby the tool required to configure additional attributes of the controller is the switch which controls the space. When the controller is initially installed on a lighting load and powered up, the fixture powers up on. A series of switch clicks will cause that controller to learn the switch activated. The controller, using that switch, can now be configured from that learned switch to adjust or set up the following 10 items;
 
-          choose between a non dimming and dimming ballast
-          set time outs for occupancy or timed switch functions
-          photo set point on
-          photo set point off
-          walk test mode – for quick testing of occupancy set up
-          remote learn – to add up to 29 other devices switches or sensors
-          manual on or auto on with auto off
-          repeater enable – each controller can repeat if set up this way
-          clear – clear the switch or clear the controller completely
-          occupancy transmit on – to transmit a wired occupancy sensor input to other controllers.
-          Occupancy teach command – to group controllers to react to a propogated occupancy signal.
 
Echoflex’ evolution of this controller and its SmartClick technology means that buildings without or with limited controls can be retrofitted to create smart spaces. Areas with highest payback can be retrofitted first with others following, and the control can be incremental through the addition of further sensing and switching controls.
 
Echoflex’ radio enabled commercial controller and related switches and sensors allows the quick retrofit of a space for lighting control by giving switching and sensing control to a intelligent controller whose self configuration protocol and its ability to set additional attributes can be done locally as the configuration tool (the switch) exists in the space. It means spaces are retrofitted with little disruption to ongoing work, providing incremental control from highest payback first.
