The classroom is a perfect example of how the ERDRC-C can optimize energy convservation and save money as they usually can harvest daylight and also benefit from occupancy control but they need certain overrides.

The products used in this application are the PTM265 single decorator style switch (mounted at the main door to the classroom), PTM265D dual decorator (mounted at the teachers desk), 43-160 photo sensor (mounted to the window facing the exterior), 41-301 occupancy sensor (mounted centre of room) and the ERDRC-C complete room control module (mounted ahead of the load first fixture in circuit).

The system works like this;

The teacher comes in, in the morning and activates the room by turning on the main switch at the door, the photo sensor adjusts light levels based on available ambient light, the occupancy sensor turns off lights when there is no occupancy. The dual switch at the desk is used as a second master control to turn lights off when showing movies etc and also as an quiet time override, in the case of exams where there will be no movement, where the teacher can override the system for a preset period of time.

Create a smart classroom, installed while students are at lunch, programming takes seconds.
